HOW TO GET TO MIRSTOCK

WOLVEY VILLA CAMPING SITE , WOLVEY, B4065

FLYING

Nearest Airport is Birmingham International. (BHX) This is served by road and rail. It is on/near M42, A45 and M6 motorways. To drive to MS from here take M6 South (signed for London) Come off at Junction 2. Follow instructions from there. From airport there is a shuttle to adjacent Rail station Birmingham International. Trains run frequently to Birmingham or Coventry from here. From Birmingham regular trains to Nuneaton Rail.

RAIL

Coventry Rail station is quite a way as it is right on opposite of City and MS is on outskirts. Nearest railway stations are Hinckley and Nuneaton. Nuneaton is the best as it is on more main line and easier to get to MS site. And trains are more frequent. It is also easier to arrange pick ups from MS site from Nuneaton.

BUS

If you get national bus to Coventry City Centre  there are no buses to Wolvey village. It is a fairly long way from Wolvey so may be cheaper to get a bus to Nuneaton. I not sure about weekends but midweek there are about 2 buses a day to Wolvey.  However taxis are available form both Nuneaton and Coventry bus stations, but I believe  Nuneaton would be cheaper.

ROAD

The MS site is easily approachable from all the main roads and motorways. Here are directions to the site from some of the nearest main Junctions.

Approaching from M1 (North)   Exit at  J21 for M69 at Leicester, take M69 towards Hinckley. Exit at J1 with A5 at this island take the B4065 and continue straight through Wolvey village and follow camp signs.

Approaching from M1 (South) and A1 South Continue along until M1 merges with M6 Nr Rugby J19. (The new A1 link road comes into M1 near here too). Continue on M6 to J2.

Approaching from M6 North, M5, M42, M40, Airport  Take M6 (towards London) and go to Junction 2.

From M6 J2 At island take B4065 signposted Ansty. Go through villages of Ansty and Shilton and straight on at lights. Campsite is signposted.

Approaching from N Wales or A5  The A5 Watling Street runs about 2 miles from site. From A5 N or S get to the Junction with the M69 island at Hinckley. Take the Exit B4065 signposted Wolvey. Continue STRAIGHT through Wolvey village. Camp site is signposted.

Alternative  accommodation

On the M69/A5 Island  there is a large  rather smart hotel just on the Milton Keynes exit from this Island.

Haanover  International Hotel. £39 a night and if you stay 2 nights Sunday is £19.00.  It is 2-3 miles from Camp site.  Address A5 Watling Street Hinckley. 01455 631122 For reservations 0870241 7081 www.hanover-international.com.

If you need a taxi from airport, station or to and from hotel and a reasonable price :-
